What to Expect:
Baking Fun:
Children will break into teams and embark on a baking adventure! They will follow provided recipes and create simple and delicious baked treats such as banana bread, blueberry muffins, scones, and more. They will learn baking techniques, teamwork, and the joy of making something delicious from scratch. We will use organic ingredients!
Poetry Writing:
In the second part of the camp, we'll shift our focus to the art of poetry. Children will learn about different types of poetry, explore their creativity, and write their own poems. This segment will be filled with activities designed to help them express their thoughts and feelings through words.
Poetry Tea Time:
To conclude each day of camp, we'll host a special poetry tea time. Kids will enjoy the treats they baked while sharing their poems with the group. We'll also read poems by famous poets of modern times and the past, offering inspiration and a deeper appreciation for the beauty of poetry.
Children will serve the table following proper etiquette - tablecloth, napkins, flowers and candles, etc!
The camp will be largely self-directed, encouraging independence and responsibility, like all of Lana's camps. On the last day of camp parents are welcome to join us at teatime and read the poems their children created at camp.
