Bakeshop 101: Intro to Classic French Pastry

Introduction to French Pastry is a hands-on Bakeshop 101 experience exploring the foundations of classic French baking taught by Chef Emma Dooley, an accomplished HCCC alumni chef. Guests will learn professional techniques behind pâte à choux with traditional fillings, delicate madeleines, rich crème brûlée, and puff pastry through live demonstrations and shaping techniques inspired by classic French patisseries.

Perfect for beginners and pastry lovers alike, this immersive class offers a delicious introduction to the elegance, precision, and artistry behind some of France’s most beloved pastries while learning directly from a talented chef who began her culinary journey at Hudson County Community College.

Guests will also be able to enjoy coffee, tea, and light refreshments throughout the experience while taking home their handcrafted pastries to share with friends and family — or simply enjoy all to themselves.

• All sales are final due to the limited seating in our kitchens, as well as the amount of prep time and food cost associated with each registered student.
• While we don’t offer refunds or credits, you may send someone to attend in your place. We ask that you please email us well in advance so that we can be prepared for any changes to the guest list.

Culinary Class Schedule Changes:

• If the College Cancels a Course a full refund is issued.
• Non-attendance to a Class/Program does not constitute a withdrawal, nor entitle the participant to a refund.
• Please confirm work schedules before registering for classes. Refunds and credits will not be issued due to change of work schedule.
