The Bakersfield Marathon has permanently moved to the spring and will be held on March 27th, 2022.A spring race brings health advantages as our fall race has suffered from air quality issues due to the ever-extending fire season throughout California. Also, training for a marathon through the winter months is much more amenable than training in the summer. We think the spring scheduling is a positive feature for the future of the event.

We’ll be presenting a virtual 5K, 10K, Half and Full Marathon — plus one special challenge for our toughest competitors. A RACE FOR EVERYONE!
In addition to giving local runners an opportunity to run a Boston-qualifying marathon in their own backyard, we are excited to welcome runners from across the U.S. and around the world. The Bakersfield Marathon has a race for everyone!
We have a scenic Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K and 5K! A race for the whole family!
Packet pickup is on Saturday, March 26th, 2022 where you are invited to take part in our Health and Fitness Expo. Saturday at the Expo is the last day to register for any of our events.
Special Rate for our 5K! Children 9 and under receive $25 entry fee automatically during registration.
