Can YOU dance in 13-8 time? Join jazz-fusion-piano-pop group Baka Gaijin for a late-night boogie as they return to the Ellington stage for another round of chaotic fusion fun!
Baka Gaijin is the passion project of Perth-native keyboardist and songwriter Ethan Walters (Raksha, Freehand, Vissac). The traditional piano-pop four-piece format belies this band's true depth; a chaotic mix of jazz-fusion, prog-rock, indie pop, and disco funk, resulting in a sound that's eclectic and diverse, yet still accessible. Since their launch in 2019, Baka Gaijin have released their singles “Prime” and “Fexofenadine”, landing them on the lineup at Fairbridge World Music Festival in 2021. It's not easy to accurately describe Baka Gaijin as a band, but one thing is for sure: they are utterly unique.
