This month at Bailey Homestead Farm School, we’re stepping into the world of chickens and learning what it truly means to care for a flock!
We kick off Friday with a FREE hands-on community CRAFT followed by our PAID Farm School series.
🎨 FREE AUGUST ACTIVITY:
🐾 Predator Footprint Painting
Kids will explore predator awareness through a creative hands-on art activity where we learn how to recognize tracks and signs in a fun, engaging way.
🐔 WHAT WE’LL LEARN:
-Chicken terms
-Egg and chicken anatomy basics
-Identifying different breeds and sizes of chickens
-The life cycle of a chicken from chick to laying hen
-Daily care, needs, and responsibilities of livestock
🌿 SPECIAL GUEST:
Our Livestock Manager (our oldest daughter) will explain a kid-friendly walkthrough of:
-Daily chicken chores
-Feeding and water routines
-Health checks and flock care
-What it means to be responsible for animals on a homestead
