Bailey Hill Guided Tour - CADW Open Doors Event
About this Event
Bailey Hill is a public park located at the top of the High Street in the centre of Mold, Flintshire. It is a scheduled ancient monument, being the site of an early medieval castle established in the 11th century, with defensive earthworks including a steep sided motte and inner and outer baileys.
Recently the park has undergone a huge amount of redevelopment work to improve access to the site and improve pathways around the park, with the creation of an outdoor performance space on what was the Bowling Green and redevelopment of the Custodians Cottage into the new Bailey Hill Centre.
For Open Doors, there will be a free guided tour on the history of the park, delivered by the Bailey Hill Visitor Volunteers. The tour will last up to 90 minutes and will be followed by tea and coffee in the newly redeveloped Bailey Hill Centre. This is mainly an outdoor session, so guests are encouraged to dress appropriately for the weather and for walking.
Location - Bailey Hill Centre, Denbigh Road, Mold, Flintshire CH7 1BL.
