Badlands

The wind doesn’t whisper here.
It howls.
It carries ash, bone, and the last echoes of a world that thought it was untouchable.
Little survives in the wilderness.
Less survives alone.
They called it the Great Purge—but there was nothing clean about it. No single blast. No final warning. Just a slow, suffocating end. Water turned to dust. Fields rotted where they stood. Cities went dark, one by one, until the silence swallowed everything.
No signals. No saviors. No way back.
What was left of humanity didn’t fall, it unraveled. It starved. It turned on itself.
And in the end, only one truth remained:
Survive… or be eaten.
From the ruins, factions rose, hard, ruthless, and hungry. They carved borders with bullets and blood, built power on fear, and called it order. Join them, and you might earn a place. Climb high enough, and you might even live like the old world never died.
But nothing here is given.
Show mercy, and the strong will strip you bare.
Show strength, and the clever will cut you down.
Trust is a liability.
Hesitation is a death sentence.
Every step could be your last.
Every breath is stolen from something waiting to take it back.
Out here, there are no heroes, only survivors. No victories, only longer lives.
No rules beyond the first, and the last:
Survive.
This isn’t a story about rebuilding.
This isn’t hope waiting on the horizon.
This is what’s left when the world forgets you.
This is the Badlands.
