Classical and adventure… the viola guarantees!
This recital focuses on folklore, rhythmic expressions, warm sounds and electronic participation. It promises to be a true adventure where the viola and the piano can be heard together in their richness, warmth and versatility. Duo Buruk-Wieringa play this experience that takes you from Hungary to a homegrown world premiere. Inspired by folk music, Béla Bartók was influenced by the folklore he came into contact with high in the Hungarian mountains for his compositions. The strong, rhythmic expressions and folk-like dances and tunes blow over to the Netherlands with a fiery wind. The Hungarian-Dutch composer Géza Frid expresses his Hungarian origins and with his sonatina for viola and piano seems to blend effortlessly with the Dutch musical life of the past century.
The impressive viola sonata by Henk Badings seems to be a forgotten gem. Badings was a prominent composer and contributed to a versatile oeuvre as a composer and engineer. He worked experimentally with electronic music. In response to Badings' innovative
composition techniques, composer Oscar van Dillen writes a new work for viola, piano and electronics, written especially for the Badings Belicht series. In his composition Ichnofossils, Van Dillen surrounds you with sound projections and immerses you in the music together with the performers. Duo Buruk-Wieringa take you on a true viola-piano adventure and perform an impressive world premiere of Van Dillen's Ichnofossils.

Klassiek en avontuur… de altviool garandeert!
In dit recital worden de oren gespitst op folklore, ritmische expressies, warme klanken en elektronische participatie. Het belooft een waar avontuur te worden waar de altviool en de piano zich samen in zijn rijkdom, warmte en veelzijdigheid laten horen. Duo Buruk-Wieringa bespelen deze belevenis die u meeneemt van Hongarije naar een wereldpremière van eigen bodem. Geïnspireerd door volksmuziek liet Béla Bartók zich voor zijn composities beïnvloeden door de folklore waar hij hoog in de Hongaarse gebergte mee in aanraking kwam. De sterke, ritmische expressies en volksachtige dansen en wijsjes waaien met een vurige wind over naar Nederland. De Hongaarse-Nederlandse componist Géza Frid brengt zijn Hongaarse afkomst tot uiting en lijkt met zijn sonatine voor altviool en piano moeiteloos te mengen met het Nederlandse muziekleven van de afgelopen eeuw.
De indrukwekkende altviool sonate van Henk Badings lijkt een vergeten parel te zijn. Badings was een vooraanstaande componisten en droeg als componist en ingenieur bij aan veelzijdig oeuvre. Hij ging experimenteel te werk met elektronische muziek. In reactie op Badings’ innovatieve
compositietechnieken schrijft componist Oscar van Dillen een nieuw werk voor altviool, piano en elektronica, speciaal geschreven voor de serie Badings Belicht. In zijn compositie Ichnofossils laat Van Dillen u omringen door klankprojecties en u samen met de uitvoerders onderdompelen in de muziek. Duo Buruk-Wieringa nemen u mee in een waar altviool-piano-avontuur en brengen een indrukwekkende wereldpremière in uitvoering van Van Dillen's Ichnofossils.
