“Democracy Manifest is our fourth EP and whilst it leans on musical expressions we’ve used in the past, there’s been a shift towards a more aggressive sound. Thematically the lyrics explore the absurdism of modern society in a world ruled by soundbites and headlines. The opening and closing tracks (Executive Outcome and Savage Discourse respectively) are a bread of abstracted frustrations towards the ever changing world around us sandwiching in the more situational Goats & Bows and One With the Crab People (The latter being a direct assault on those who confuse yellow press for food).”
IVW is the UK’s annual 7-day celebration of independent music & arts venues and the people that own, run and work in them. To celebrate 10 years of IVW, we are pleased to announce:

Badger are a two piece (Simeon Soden and Christopher Maltby) alt pop force mixing melody with a narrated existential crisis. Musically they combine post-punk and IDM with a dash of experimental hip-hop (à la Death Grips).

21:00 - THE DUCKS (Glasgow):
The Ducks are a 3 piece band from Glasgow consisting of renowned musicians: rap artist Mog, drummer Mince Fratelli and bassist Lewis Findlay. The band got together in January 2019 where they began forming their distinct sound by merging Mog's vocals with real band instruments resulting in a unique blend of the best of Scottish hip hop and rock and roll.

19:30 - VACANT HOUSES
Newcastle based musician & multi instrumentalist with a background in sonic art and experimental music as well as playing in various bands and solo outings. Performing primarily with modular, hardware synths and samplers and utilising guitar, tape loops and field recordings he aims to create experimental and genre defying electronic & electro-acoustic music. He has been involved in various projects in Newcastle, Brighton and beyond. He is currently working on his second album release with Preston based Beached Records, as well as several e.p’s of tape based music.
Aiming to create off-kilter soundscapes and prone to improvisation, each live show aims to be unique whilst indulging a vast array of influences. From blissed out shoegaze, dream pop and ambient to industrial, breakcore, noise & drone. These nebulous textures are cut with rhythmic techno, breakbeats and scattered IDM tangents with heroic dose of psychedelia for good measure.
