Backpacking for Beginners We will meet at the Rain Lake Access point of Algonquin Provincial Park and spend the day hiking the Western Uplands Backpacking Trail. We will camp overnight in Algonquins back country on Islet Lake.
This trip is for beginners and we will learn all the necessary skills to camp with minimal impact, keep a Bear safe campground, meal preparation and everything you will need to know to be expert interior campers.
Cost per person $ 160.00
This includes all your necessary equipment, Tent, air mattress, sleeping bag, food, backpack and Provincial Park fees.
For those who have their own equipment the fee would be adjusted accordingly.
This hike is approximately 10 km on the old railway bed. So terrain is easy. You must be able to carry a 40 pound pack at least 10km.
We will also spend some time learning about the birds we encounter, animals such as Moose and Black Bear and some of the Algonquin Park history of the area.
Please feel free to DM me for more information.
