Beats Pacifik is proud to present Back 2 Back, a night dedicated to the inability to plan. Pairing the island’s finest selectors going Back 2 Back with The Guru, with little practice and no planned sets to bring the full spontaneity of professionals reading the dancefloor. Back 2 Back features a mix of genres to take you on a journey through the spectrum of electronic music.

This time around we are proud to present a special edition of Back 2 Back, “Between Two D’s”; featuring The Big D’s straight out of Campbell River. The Big D’s made up of Dylprickle and Sleepy are two absolute masters of their craft and I am very excited to have the chance to not only feature their talents, but to join them for a night of 4 on the floor madness. Starting within the expansive spectrum of House music and building into a hypnotic Techno frenzy these two never fail to bring sheer fire to the dancefloor. Joined by Guru, who began his musical journey in the world of Techno, this stands to be a rare experience as we push the limits of Techno, Tech-House and all things to get you stomping the floor. If you have been there for any edition of Back 2 Back, you know this is a night of spontaneity. Typically most of us have rarely played together, and we won’t be planning anything other than keeping the vibes high while the feet keep moving.

Renowned for his unmatched skill in live remixing and his advanced 4-deck setups, he crafts unique auditory journeys that have entranced festival-goers at Shambhala, Atmosphere, Cumberland Wild, Pacheena Bay Music Festival, Otherworld, Electric Love and beyond. His deep grooves and bouncing basslines have been the backbone of the underground scene, ensuring every beat hits just right. DylPrickle, hailing from the vibrant village of Cumberland, BC, is on a mission to make your legs ache and your body shake. With a heart rooted in tech house but a versatility that spans genres, he surfs the waves of crowd energy, tweaking his tune selections to match the mood. A fan favourite at festivals like Cumberland Wild Music Festival and Pacheena Bay, he's shared stages with the likes of The Sponges, DJ Shub, Neighbor, Pineo and Loeb, and Skiitour, always leaving the crowd begging for more.

Together as The Big D's, they deliver a cheeky and exhilarating performance. Expect deep, throbbing beats, playful mixes, and a rhythm that's hard to resist. They're packing a groove so enticing, you'll feel it deep inside. From the sunny beaches of Canada, emanating from the Zen Den a dulcet tone rings out. Hailing from a mystical land known as “The Basement,” The Guru cultivated his love for music while scouring record collections. Through drums The Guru discovered a love for the rhythms that beat deep within us. Armed with a pair of turntables and a collection of music that rivals most libraries, he embarked on a journey to share his means of meditation with the world. His mission? To ensure that everyone gets to ride a sonic wave of ripping Amen breaks, pumping Disco drums and even the odd dub echo on a journey into music.

The Guru has been exploring and sharing the expanse of music since the late 90’s. A focus for Guru came in fostering true Jungle/DnB with Come Correct Sound Crew in Calgary, Alberta. As well as his time digging through endless crates in search of rare Roots Reggae and Dancehall, which he performed at both, Unity Sound Saturdays and the long running Dub at the Pub. The Guru played every venue in Calgary that existed since 2000, bringing his element to popular residencies, raves and club nights over his near 30 year career. With many festival appearances under his belt including Shambhala, Connect, Festival, FozzyFest, Wicked Woods, Electric Sky Festival, OtherWorld along with many more and regular shows around the sunny shores of Victoria, Canada The Guru’s steam is still rolling. With a stage presence and effervescence like few others, accompanied by the knowledge of a true veteran of the music world, a Guru performance is truly like none other.
