Additionally, we will have Barnes & Barnes in from Vancouver with locals R|V^H and Runt holding it down, for another Techno-forward shaker.

Hailing from the coastal rainforests of British Columbia's Sunshine Coast and Gulf Islands comes Kilbourne, the founder and curator of Cimmerian Records.

Kilbourne channels a sound resonating on deep foundations. He aims to craft a sonic narrative deeply rooted in sound system culture and low-end frequencies. His productions and sets are curated to be sonic journeys designed to evolve emotionally and blend organic textures with the sounds of Dubstep, Drum & Bass, Grime, Breakbeats or Techno.

Over the past decade you may have caught sets from him at festivals like Future Forest, Wicked Woods, Cumberland Wild, Pachena Bay, Samsara, Lamplight and more.

Barnes & Barnes

Barnes & Barnes is a Vancouver-based DJ and musician who thinks life is better at 40-50Hz at 95-100dB. Trained as a classical bassoonist, and dj'ed for ~15 years, he is a lifelong music lover. His blend of house, techno, dnb, grime and UKG have moved dancefloors at many burning man parties, Vancouver venues such as the PNE, Osito, The Score and many afterhours events.

He is currently working on a live techno set using drum machines, synthesizers and samplers.

Runt

[Resonance Collective]

Born from the angst of a teenage emo phase, Runt’s sound is a relentless pursuit of emotional catharsis. With a penchant for hard-hitting drum lines and ecstatic melodies, she centres her approach around genre blending, weaving together the urgency of breaker, the groove of reggaeton and baile funk, and the revolutionary spirit of alternative club music. As a founding member of the Resonance Collective, Runt has been finding her way by organizing and performing alternative club events with her friends since 2021.

R|V^H

RVH’s sonic palette is a testament to his diverse influences, drawing inspiration from a wide spectrum of artists, producers, and styles. His musical tastes traverse the minimal realms of house and techno, where the essence of each beat is distilled to its purest form. Yet, RVH’s selections go beyond convention, as he finds himself captivated by the fusion of driving percussion and compositional synthesis that defines genres like afro house, melodic/progressive/deep house, and techno.

RVH’s sets are more than tracks strewn together, they’re journeys, inviting listeners to explore the profound connection between music, movement and emotion. You can often find RVH playing sets at regional Burner fundraisers and local events. Now as a resident DJ at The Downbeat in Victoria, he’s stoked to be producing the Back Underground Series - focussed on Techno in all its realms: Hypnotic, Deep, Percussive, Syncopated and at time Melodic.
