Join us for an unforgettable back-to-school celebration of live music and community connection on Sunday, August 31. This special show is headlined by legendary slide guitarist Johnny Vernazza, showcasing his new upcoming album, and features dynamic opening sets from Austin-based singer-songwriter Leeann Atherton and the current San Diego Music Awards “Artist Of The Year,” Anthony Cullins.
Proceeds from the event support STEM education initiatives through LabRats San Diego, helping empower the next generation of creative thinkers and innovators. For those unable to attend in person, a streaming version will premiere online starting Labor Day.
Johnny Vernazza: A slide guitar legend and former member of the Elvin Bishop Band, Johnny brings decades of blues mastery and soulful storytelling to the stage. His new album, produced in-house, showcases a fresh wave of Christmas Blues.
Leeann Atherton: A Texas soul-blues powerhouse, Leeann Atherton fuses gospel roots, country grit, and heartfelt songwriting. Currently recording a new album with Brainstem Music, her live sets radiate joy, authenticity, and irresistible groove.
Anthony Cullins: Known as “The Fallbrook Kid,” Anthony Cullins is a guitar prodigy with an old soul. Blending blues, funk, and rock with jaw-dropping skill, he’s a rising star whose performances leave audiences stunned and smiling.
