"Sixties rock and roll icon LAURIE BEEBE LEWIS was a former official member and singer with the world-famous sixty’s sensation THE MAMAS AND THE PAPAS.

Laurie and her band Electric Underground are NOT A TRIBUTE GROUP. Laurie was a legacy member of the original group. This distinction is important because Laurie performed as a full member and toured with the band founder John Phillips and original member Denny Doherty plus Elaine “Spanky” McFarlane (Spanky & Our Gang).

Laurie was hired by “Papa” John Phillips to replace original member Michelle Phillips and Mackenzie Phillips. Laurie toured the world the US and Canada extensively with the group for seven years (1986-1993).

Their songs are a staple of flower power and psychedelic music that have lasted for over fifty years.

Prior to THE MAMAS & THE PAPAS Laurie was an official member of the BUCKINGHAMS “Mercy Mercy Mercy” for three years and a featured singer on the 1985 HAPPY TOGETHER TOUR. She also recorded an album with them in 1985 “A Matter of Time” plus she co-wrote “Made to Love You” on the album”.

Laurie also recorded an album with Gary Puckett in 1998 “Is This Love”. Her strong presence on “I Want to Know What Love Is” and “Making Love Out of Nothing at All” as well as Laurie and Gary’s duet on “Alone” can be found wherever downloadable digital music is available.

Today Laurie and her band the Electric Underground pay tribute to the flower power and psychedelic music era of the sixties. In the concert The Mamas & The Papas songs are featured as well as hit songs from other sixties groups.

The concert BACK TO THE SIXTIES includes a running video of 60’s era photos during the show plus a pre-show three-minute video of Laurie’s rock n’ roll history. The pre-show video is narrated by Bart Mendoza a well-known musician and song writer plus a published journalist."
