Families, students, parents, grandparents, guardians, educators, and the St. Petersburg community are invited to Mt. Zion’s Back-to-School Empowerment Weekend: Rooted. Ready. Growing.
This two-day campus-wide event is a collaboration of Mt. Zion Progressive Missionary Baptist Church, Mt. Zion Christian Academy & Performing Arts, and Mt. Zion Human Services — coming together to support families as the new school year begins.
The weekend is intentionally scheduled after the first week of school, when families have a clearer sense of what students still need — supplies, support, encouragement, prayer, and community.

Saturday, August 15 | 10 AM–1 PM
Campus Open House
Come discover what the Mt. Zion campus offers families through the church, the academy, human services, and youth and children’s ministry.
Sunday, August 16 | 10 AM
Empowering Service
Theme: Rooted. Ready. Growing.
Scripture: Proverbs 22:6
A time of worship and prayer over students, families, teachers, administrators, school staff, and the school year ahead.
Sunday, August 16 | 12–4 PM
Back-to-School Festival
Food, games, bounce houses, family fun, and school supplies distribution.
Bring the family. Invite a neighbor. Share this event with parents, grandparents, guardians, educators, and anyone preparing for the school year.
