𝗘𝗔𝗥𝗟𝗬 𝗕𝗜𝗥𝗗 𝗣𝗥𝗜𝗖𝗘 𝗧𝗛𝗥𝗢𝗨𝗚𝗛 𝗗𝗘𝗖𝗘𝗠𝗕𝗘𝗥 𝟮: $𝟭𝟵
The most beautiful and compelling belly dancing is built upon a solid foundation. But most importantly, working on the basics creates greater strength and control so you can fully immerse yourself in the movements and better support your body.
𝑾𝙝𝒂𝙩 𝙬𝒆'𝒍𝙡 𝙘𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙧:
• 𝗧𝗛𝗘 "𝗕𝗔𝗦𝗘" 𝗟𝗔𝗬𝗘𝗥𝗦: Proper posture and alignment are our base layers and deserve attention! You might just be amazed at what a difference tuning into the base can be to how fluid your movement is and how your body feels as it moves through space.
• 𝗜𝗦𝗢𝗟𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗦: We spotlight individual movements before joining them together, aka, “layering.” This includes upper and lower body, including hips; chest and shoulders; hands and arms.
• 𝗙𝗢𝗢𝗧𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗞 & 𝗪𝗘𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧-𝗦𝗛𝗜𝗙𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚: Footwork is made easier when you become aware of weight changes and begin to intuit where your weight should be!
• 𝗖𝗟𝗔𝗦𝗦𝗜𝗖 𝗠𝗢𝗩𝗘𝗦: Among others, we'll do hip and chest lifts, drops and circles; snake arms; undulations; shimmies, traveling steps and more.
•𝗦𝗛𝗢𝗥𝗧 𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗕𝗢: Putting the learned moves into a short combo is the pièce de résistance––so much fun!
