Would you like to linger a little longer in the Indian Summer vibes before the colder days? Emerge yourself in one more midsummer night's dream? We’d like to invite you for a final boost of summer sunshine on Sunday, October 20 before we commit fully to the next season, with an Ecstatic Dance & Arts journey, a special edition with DJ Socrates and LeilArts.

Inspired by our own recent inner journeys and exploration from the islands of Greece, we are ready to waive their creativity together and invite you to enter a midsummer dream full of abundance, ecstasy, creativity and introspection.

We’re taking our sunny inspiration infused with the scent of wild mountain thyme and sage. Imaging entering a mystical realm where faeries frolic and star crossed lovers spin round one another with music, dance, rituals and art co-creation. Follow the tinkling bells of a herd of goats as they climb down to rocky beach and be greeted by the endless sound of the waves between rocks. Move gracefully like the ravens circling above the cliffs, dance boldly like those goats jumping and sliding their way down the rock face. Float on the warm sea waves taste the salt on your lips. Let the summer spirit charge you once more, as we gently transition to fiery days of autumn together.

THE FLOW:

It will be a beautiful Sunday afternoon to get together, dance ecstatically, move freely, meditate, release what's no longer serving you, let your inner child out to play and make intuitive co-created arts, rest together or simply do nothing and just be, with a potluck-style sharing after to connect deeper with each other. It will be held in the private and cozy space of Kokopelli at the heart of Amsterdam overlooking the beautiful canal water.

The journey is combined with the co-created painting process to explore our creative power (as an additional way of freely expressing your authenticity, no must-dos). Where we will co-create a safe, open and connected space as we believe everyone is an artist/co-creator with life. One co-created painting will be donated to a random participant who likes to receive it, to help 'keep' and pass on our collective beauty and power.

WHAT IS ECSTATIC DANCE?

It is a form of free-style dance that emphasizes free movement and authentic expressions in a non-verbal setting (sounds/voicing are welcome), often accompanied by music that create different waves of a journey. It is a contemporary practice that has evolved over time, drawing on elements of various cultural and spiritual traditions. "The fastest, cleanest, most joyful way to break out of your own box is by dancing." "If you don't do your dance, who will?" “Dancing like nobody's watching.” We see Dance as Liberation. It’s for everyone of all backgrounds. More details and agreements will be shared before the journey starts.

He brings a spiciness and primal intensity to the party, seducing and energizing his audience slow and steadily. Be ready to go on an epic journey from lush meadows to dense tropical forests, along noisy highways to sweaty street parties and back into the jungle. Also a master in musical storytelling, Socrates weaves together grooves from across cultures and genres fluently in one exciting colorful journey. Creating a feeling of familiarity while at same time mixing a unique story with every set.

Leila from LeilArts - a life Artist, Ceremony Facilitator and Event Organizer. Leila specializes in guiding transformative journeys through intuitive movements and the co-creation of arts such as Intuitive Arts, Mandala, and private art atherapy sessions. She helps individuals gain profound insights from embodied and authentic expressions, using art as a tool to integrate intense experiences into daily life patterns. Over the last 3 years, with her former partner, they created the concept of combining ‘Dance + Art’ as 'Ecstatic Arts', and traveled to 30+ countries, facilitated 60+ Ecstatic Dance and Arts Journeys, and co-created 100+ pieces of powerful artworks/collective stories with 2.5K+ participants during live journeys. Those artworks are uniquely beautiful, touching and priceless with real people and stories behind, and they can never be duplicated.
