Back from Orbit: NASA Astronaut Chris Williams on Life Aboard the ISS
About this Event
Williams will share his post-flight video and reflect on his first spaceflight, offering a firsthand look at life and work aboard the orbiting laboratory.
During his 241-day mission, Williams served as a flight engineer and member of Expedition 74. He completed two spacewalks, totaling 14 hours and 22 minutes, to prepare for upgrades to the station’s power systems and replace a faulty joint on the Canadarm2 robotic arm.
Williams was selected as a member of NASA’s 2021 astronaut candidate class, he holds a doctorate in physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he studied astrophysics, and previously worked as a medical physicist and researcher at Harvard Medical School.
Williams will join Jacob Keaton, Acting Director of the International Space Station Program, for a discussion about his mission, experiences in orbit, and return to Earth. The event will conclude with an audience Q&A, giving attendees an opportunity to hear directly from Williams about his journey to become a NASA astronaut and the discoveries and challenges of living and working in space.
