Elevate your dancing by understanding the music you dance to better ?When we dance we illustrate what the music tells us to do. Multiple elements in Bachata music can help you predict what will happen in a song, adapt your energy depending on the structure and become one with the music.
Now we went through the instruments and varied parts of a song (if you don't know what I am talking about, please attend Musicality 101 and 201 at 6.30pm the same day) we are diving even deeper into the structure of Bachata music.
We will go through:
- The Bachata square: what is the basic structure of a song and what are the most common changes you can expect
- What are the repetitive patterns that you can apply to any songs
- How to predict the change in between sections and upcoming breaks
There will be a balance between theory and application. We will not be learning patterns here but will focus on what to do when you hear a break is coming to ensure a smooth transition and get back on timing.
This is not just for leaders, followers have a huge responsibility in musicality and illustrating the music in partnered dance. The only way to really groove together to a song is if both parties can truly understand the music ?
