In this bold, contemporary staging of Bach’s St John Passion, the story of life, death and resurrection, the drama is brought vividly to life in English, offering fresh clarity and immediacy to one of the most powerful works in the choral repertoire.This performance brings together the exceptional artistry of the Britten Sinfonia with a distinguished cast of emerging soloists from William Christie’s Les Arts Florissants and Le Jardin des Voix. The acclaimed Brighton Festival Chorus and Youth Choir perform entirely from memory, moving fluidly through the space to create an immersive, boundary-free experience in which audience and performers are drawn into a shared musical world.
Free Chorale workshop with James Morgan and Brighton Festival Chorus - Tue 14 Apr
In preparation, audience members are invited to rehearse the four participatory chorales alongside the Brighton Festival Chorus and Music Director James Morgan next Tuesday - so you can feel confident and performance-ready on the night. Places at the workshop are limited to 50, on a first-come, first-served basis.
