Extension Educator Hayley Jackson will present a Babysitting Training open to all youth ages 11–15 on two separate dates: Friday, June 30 and Monday, July 24. Both will be offered 9 a.m.–3 p.m. at the Nebraska Extension in Lancaster County conference rooms, 444 Cherrycreek Road, Suite A, Lincoln. Cost is $35 per participant. Bring a sack lunch.Participants will:
• Learn child development.
• Learn how to identify common hazards in the home.
• Become trained in CPR and first aid.
• Make a toy for a child.
• Make and enjoy a healthy snack.
• Create a business card for their babysitting business.
• Receive a babysitters workbook.
Register and pay at least one week in advance to reserve a spot. Deadline is Friday, June 23 for the June 30 training, and Monday, July 17 for the July 24 workshop. Space is limited, so register early. Register online at https://go.unl.edu/babysit23. Payment may be made by calling 402-441-7180 with credit/debit card (small additional fee), or mailing/bringing check (payable to Lancaster County Extension) or cash to Nebraska Extension in Lancaster County, 444 Cherrycreek Road, Suite A, Lincoln NE 68528. Office hours are Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–4:30 p.m. If payment isn’t received by the deadline, your reservation is subject to cancellation. No refunds.
