About this Event
This 1-day American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI) course is designed to deliver fundamental information in babysitting, including proper supervision, basic caregiving skills and safety and injury prevention.
Also included in this program are CPR and First Aid certification. Students will obtain course completion cards, documenting completion of the Child and Babysitter Safety, CPR and First Aid courses through the American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI).
Class size is limited to 12 students. Students ages 10 to 17 years of age can take this course. Students should bring their own lunch to class. All students are welcome.
Topics include:
- Supervising children and infants
- Performing basic child-care skills
- Safety and injury prevention
- Key safety, caregiving, and first aid tips
- Communicating effectively with parents and children
- CPR and First Aid certification through ASHI

Time: 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Cost: $50
Instructions:
- Students should arrive 10 minutes early to check in and get class materials. The class will be held in the Westfields Hospital Foundation building, the white house on the left as you enter the hospital driveway.
- Each student should bring a bag lunch, pencil, and a baby-sized doll to class.
