About this Event

This popular program geared toward mature 10-16 year-olds is packed full of advice, guides, tips, and information based on real life experiences from kids and experts in the know.

The Kidproof Babysitter Training Program, course consists of a mix of lecture, group discussion and hands-on practice which covers: safe job search, resumes, interviewing, professionalism, preparing for a job, decision-making, problem-solving, child development/ages and stages, age-appropriate activities, clear and constructive communication (with adults and children), dealing with difficult situations, basic care (diapering, toileting, feeding, burping, etc.), safety in and outside of the home/in the community, prevention of, how to respond to and how to get help in various emergencies, including basic first aid (infant/child/adult conscious choking and bandaging).

Includes handbook and completion card.​​ Snacks provided, please bring NUT-FREE lunch and water bottle.

IMPORTANT: This class requires a minimum number of four (4) participants to run. Participants will be notified 48 hours prior to scheduled class, should it be canceled and be issued a full refund. Tell your friends to help ensure class happens! :)

ATTENDANCE POLICY: As this is a training to prepare youth to be professional and responsible babysitters, tardiness will not be allowed. Please plan to arrive 10 minutes early, so that the class can start on time. Those arriving late will forfeit their spot and will not be issued a refund.

BEHAVIOR POLICY: It is important to note that being able to focus, listen, participate and follow instructions in a respectful manner are necessary to be successful in this class, as well as on babysitting jobs and many other life experiences. If participants demonstrate the inability or refusal to participate, parent/guardians will be asked to collect their child and a refund will not be provided.

NOTE: No refunds, however, reschedule requests made within at least 48 hours of the course date, can transfer to a future course that takes place in the next 60 days of original class date (if available) for a $20.00 charge. Tickets are transferrable. Safety Side Up must receive at least 48-hr advanced notification of plan to transfer ticket.
