Missing live music ‘cos you can’t get a babysitter?

baby rock sampler bring daytime, family friendly gigs for parents and carers of kids.

For their tenth pilot show, baby rock sampler are running their first festival double bill, featuring Mickey Callisto and iamkyami.

Mickey Callisto is unlike anything around at the moment. A beacon of positivity, who celebrates being yourself in the purest form. A new kind of popstar, he makes psychedelic, bedroom-made synth-pop bangers whilst he has separated the ego from the self, seeing everyone as equal and bringing a refreshing outlook and experience.

A life-changing night out at The White Hotel in 2019 saw widescreen Italo disco make an instant impact, and dressed in a £30 ski suit he bought from Affleck’s Palace in Manchester, he has never looked back, blending the synths and chords of Italo-disco with lo-fi pop and the classics such as ABBA and Pink Floyd to create something new. His mesmerising live show is quickly becoming an essential act.

iamkyami is serving glimmer-swirl alternative j-pop RnB with a side of poly gluttonous punk attitude. Raw, honest and with perfectly crafted emotional literacy, iamkyami is your slick-talking, perceptive narrator exploring notions of identity, uniqueness and self.

Kyami's upbringing was a vibrant tapestry woven from the threads of their multicultural Japanese and Black American heritage. Kyami's art is a reflection of her unique perspective, a celebration of the multifaceted nature of identity and the beauty of difference. With each new release, iamkyami continues to break down barriers and defy expectations, establishing themselves as a unique and boundary-pushing artist.

This show is SOLD OUT.

There will be limited space for buggies and prams for this show, so we recommend bringing a sling or carrying any non-walkers where possible.

Sound will be at safe levels - lower than that at a typical gig - but for peace of mind we have ear defenders for ears of all sizes. There will however be a limited amount (we ran out last time) so please bring a pair if you have some!

Please note this is a gig for parents/carers in a child friendly setting, but not strictly aimed at the kids.

A standing show. This is a co-production with Band on the Wall. Supported using public funding from Arts Council England.
