You are warmly invited to attend our 'Remember Our Babies Ribbon Service' on Sunday 13th October at 3.30pm.Baby Loss Awareness Week, now in its 22nd year, runs from the 9th to 15th October every year and is an opportunity for everyone in the baby loss community and beyond to come together to remember our much-loved and missed babies. The week also provides an opportunity to raise awareness of the impact of pregnancy and baby loss; the importance that bereavement support plays in the ongoing bereavement journey; and of the vital work that is needed to improve pregnancy outcomes and to save babies’ lives.
Loss of a baby or pregnancy is heart-breaking, however this is happening to families across the UK every day. During Baby Loss Awareness Week, we wanted to come together as a community to commemorate our babies' lives.
There will also be a Ribbon Display on the Beckenham Crematorium main front gates during Baby Loss Awareness week and you are welcome to come and attach a ribbon for your baby
We hope that the Beckenham Ribbon Display and Baby Loss Service will help reassure anyone who finds themselves navigating this journey, whether recently bereaved or longer ago, that there is a community that understands and is here for you, whatever you need – be it guidance, shared stories or simply a listening ear to help and offer comfort. You are not alone.
After the service, there will be refreshments and you are most welcome to stay.
During Baby Loss Awareness Week, fundraising efforts are in place to raise money for Sands, the stillbirth and neonatal death charity. This incredible charity are the organisers of BLAW, as well as funding research into baby loss and are a huge support to bereaved families.
