Learn how to confidently use your Baby Lock serger and/or coverstitch machine in this hands-on, 5-session workshop series. If you own a BabyLock air thread machine, this series is for you! The first three sessions focus on techniques for a Baby Lock serger, while the final two sessions are designed for BabyLock machines that offer coverstitch capabilities.
Each session is standalone, you can attend only the classes you want! Fee is for each individual session.
Session 1: Overlock Basics
Using the Baby Lock Thread Guide
Understanding loopers and needles
Stitch settings: width, length, differential feed, rolled hems
Common overlock stitches: 4-thread, 3-thread, rolled, and lettuce edge
Turning corners and finishing thread tails
Session 2: Overlock Specialty Stitches
Wave stitches (on applicable models)
2-thread stitches and flatlock
Specialty and decorative threads
Using thread cradles and heavy threads
Session 3: Overlock Feet & Techniques
Ruffle, piping, lace, elastic, and beading feet
Zipper installation and making your own piping
Blind hems, curves, and seam allowance accuracy
Creative techniques like serger crochet and overlock quilt piecing
Session 4: Cover & Chain Basics
1, 2, and 3-needle stitching
Starting and ending stitches neatly
Hemming
Thread management and easy stitch removal
Quilt piecing
Decorative looper threads
Session 5: Cover & Chain Feet & Attachments
Specialty feet including pintuck, piping, and curve feet
Binding attachments for knit and woven fabrics
Belt loop binders, hemmer feet, and fabric guides
Pro tips for labeling and organizing accessories
