Babealon - 5 Triumphantly Returns To Kenosha!
About this Event
Before the world got weird, before “pre-Covid” became its own historical era, Kenosha got a taste of Babelon 5 — and people loved them.
Their earlier Kenosha performances at Public Brewery and the Rhode Center, were shows people fondly remember: strange, sharp, theatrical, beautifully sung, and completely hilarious.
Now the Babes are back!
Babelon 5 is a vocal trio comprised of the superbly talented Kasey Foster, Kiley B. Moore, and Tara Smith — three Chicago performers who bring theatre, comedy, and music together with gorgeous harmonies, sharp timing, and just the right amount of mischief.
Performing tunes of yesteryear — from The Andrews Sisters and The Mills Brothers to Les Paul and Mary Ford — a Babelon 5 show is equal parts hilarious, aurally pleasurable, punny, confusing, nostalgic, awe-inspiring, and awkwardly raunchy.
Theatre, comedy, and music collide in a cheeky tribute to the mid-century harmony era — the songs your grandparents loved before your parents discovered rock and roll.
You may have caught members of this cheeky threesome in other musical formations such as This Must Be the Band, Wild Earp and the Free for Alls, and Big Syn, among others. But together as Babelon 5, they become their own beautifully bent thing: close harmonies, vintage sparkle, sly comedy, theatrical timing, and a whole lot of “what exactly did I just witness?”
Kasey Foster is a Chicago creative force: actor, singer, director, creator, choreographer, puppeteer, producer, and Artistic Director of Lookingglass Theatre Company. Her work has crossed major stages and screens, including Lookingglass, Goodman Theatre, Manual Cinema, Chicago Med, and IFC’s Documentary Now! She brings the kind of stage presence that can turn a room on a dime — glamorous one second, ridiculous the next, and somehow completely in control of both.
Kiley B. Moore is a Chicago actor, musician, and vocalist with credits that span stage, television, and roots-music performance. Her screen work includes Empire, Chicago Fire, and Chicago Justice, and her musical world includes Wild Earp and the Free for Alls. She brings wit, warmth, timing, and a voice that knows exactly when to behave — and when not to.
Tara Smith completes the trio with rich vocal power, theatrical bite, and the kind of harmony work that makes Babelon 5 feel both lovingly old-fashioned and completely unhinged. Her voice and stage presence help give the group its mischievous glow — elegant, funny, fearless, and just dangerous enough to keep things interesting.
This is not your grandmother’s harmony trio.
Well… maybe it is.
But only if your grandmother's funny, fearless, a little inappropriate, and had killer pitch.
Kenosha loved them once.
Now it gets to love them again.
