BaBa ZuLa wurde von Levent Akman (spoons, percussions, machines, toys) und Murat Ertel (elektrische Saz und andere Saiteninstrumente, Gesang, Theremin) gegründet, die als wegweisende Klangpioniere gelten und eine weltweite Kult-Anhängerschaft aufgebaut haben und zu deren Fans Bands wie Einstürzende Neubauten, Can und Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds zählen. Even 30 years after its founding, this legendary band from Istanbul remains the most experimental representative of the highly acclaimed contemporary Turkish psych rock scene, which includes artists such as Altın Gün, Gaye Su Akyol, Lalalar and Derya Yıldırım & Grup Şimşek.
BaBa ZuLa was founded by Levent Akman (spoons, percussion, machines, toys) and Murat Ertel (electric saz and other string instruments, vocals, theremin), who are considered pioneering sound innovators and have built up a worldwide cult following, with fans including bands such as Einstürzende Neubauten, Can and Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds.
