Please join us for Opening Night of, AZYMANDIAS: THE ART OF AZ, with DJ SCYTHE!!! Azymandias is a play on Percy Shelly's poem, "Ozymandias," about how time brings even the most powerful to dust, parallelling the impermanence of graffiti.
Az is a self-taught street artist who employs a method he calls "silhoulighting" to create his imagery. It involves taking a silhouette and minimalistically, but dramatically lighting it. His work often centers around nightmares, loss of innocence, satirical looks at history, and how people express emotion. Az sets a surreal nightmarish dreamscape, that lures the beholder into.
