About this Event
Join us at the mood room at Park Central for a screening of Elliott Erwitt — Silence Sounds Good is a quiet, intimate portrait of an artist at work, who values companionship of all kinds above idle conversation. His life’s work is a testament to the power of the image.
Elliott Erwitt — Silence Sounds Good, the 2019 documentary film was directed by Adriana Lopez Sanfeliu, who also served as a writer and cinematographer, having previously worked as Erwitt's assistant.
“I’m serious about not being serious,” declares Elliott Erwitt, while being interviewed for the documentary, Elliott Erwitt: Silence Sounds Good, about his life and works. Pithy phrases like this are peppered throughout the film and reveal the Magnum photographer’s penchant for wit and wry observation – as well as ambiguity. What is also evident is Erwitt’s seemingly insatiable energy; in his late 80s at the time of filming, we follow him as he travels to Cuba on assignment, puts together a new book, and goes about his busy days in New York City.
Hosted by photographer and AZPA President Rick Gayle, this event is free and limited to 25 attendees.
The gallery will open at 6:30PM, with the movie starting at 7:00PM through 8:00PM.
This event is open to the public.
