AzLab#82 | A ESCAVAÇÃO ARQUEOLÓGICA DOS ANTIGOS ARMAZÉNS SOMMER [sessão em português]No âmbito da construção de um futuro Hotel, localizado na área dos antigos Armazéns Sommer, na Rua Cais de Santarém, em Lisboa, foram colocados a descoberto diversos contextos que retratam de forma única a estratificação da cidade entre a Idade do Ferro e a primeira metade do século **. No contexto dos trabalhos arqueológicos, realizados nas décadas de 2000 e 2010, foi possível identificar múltiplos vestígios de enorme relevância para a história da cidade, entre os quais conjuntos azulejares de diferentes épocas, que serão revelados com maior detalhe neste AzLab pelos arqueólogos Nuno Neto e Paulo Rebelo, da Neoépica.
O AzLab#82 decorre em formato misto: online e no Museu Nacional do Azulejo. Como tal, para quem quiser juntar-se a nós no Museu Nacional do Azulejo não precisa de fazer qualquer inscrição. Todavia, estamos naturalmente limitados à capacidade da sala. A inscrição continua a ser obrigatória para todos os que pretendam assistir às sessões via Zoom. AzLab#82 |THE ARCHEOLOGICAL EXCAVATION OF THE ANCIENT SOMMER WAREHOUSES [session to be held in Portuguese]
During the construction of a hotel in the former location of the Sommer Warehouses, on Cais de Santarém Street, in Lisbon, the excavations unearthed various elements that offer a unique picture of the city’s stratification between the Iron Age and the first half of the 20th century. The archaeological works, carried out during the 2000s and 2010s, led to the identification of a number of remains of great importance for the city’s history — among which tile sets from different periods, which will be presented in detail on this AzLab by the archaeologists Nuno Neto and Paulo Rebelo, from Neoépica.
AzLab#82 will be held in a hybrid format: both online and at the National Azulejo Museum. As such, no preregistration is needed for the in-person session at the National Azulejo Museum. However, attendance is limited to the room capacity. Registration is still mandatory for those who wish to attend via Zoom.
