About AYSID

The African Youth-Led Systemic Insights for Development (AYSID) Conference is designed to empower young people to drive lasting social change through systems leadership. With the majority of Africa’s population being young, their central role in addressing the continent's complex social problems is crucial. The conference will equip youth with systems thinking and leadership skills, enabling them to be equipped to tackle interconnected social issues effectively and meaningfully participate in governance, policymaking and nation building.

Hosted by Systems Acumen for Youth-Led Solutions (SAYDS), this conference will provide attendees with an opportunity to reflect on what a much better future of Africa could be if youth are given opportunities to play central roles as systems leaders.

Day 1: Virtual Sessions

The virtual sessions will feature groups of youth that have gone through a rigorous process becoming systems leaders. Based on knowledge that they have acquired from tackling complex social problems with various organizations, they will give attendees a glimpse of how to leverage systems thinking knowledge to address complex problems in our communities.

Day 2: In-person

The in-person conference will have both panel discussions and interactive workshops. The interactive workshops will be facilitated by young systems leaders and attendees will get to learn some key systems thinking concepts and participate in group discussions. Attendees will also have a tangible experience and vision of the innovative solutions that could come from youth facilitating the creation of systemic collaborations.
