Immerse yourself in good vibrations at Axé All Night!
As part of DC's Art All Night, in partnership with RIA Mainstreet, The Capoeira Spot is holding FREE classes for the Ward 5 community. We'll have Yoga, Intro to Capoeira classes, and Afro Dance with live drumming. All classes are open to kids and adults!
Come move your body, feel the rhythms, hang out, and get to know our community.
Festivities include:
Yoga class with Darnell aka D Yoga Dude
Intro to Capoeira classes with Contra Mestre Morcego
Afro Dance class with live drumming
Capoeira performances and roda with The Capoeira Spot's kids and adults
Plus food and music all night!
* Intro to Capoeira classes are for people new to capoeira. No experience is needed! Wear comfortable clothes.
The Capoeira Spot is a community-based nonprofit that teaches and promotes the Afro-Brazilian martial art of capoeira in Washington, DC. Capoeira was created by African warriors enslaved in Brazil and used to fight for their freedom. Today, we continue to practice and teach this liberating art. At The Capoeira Spot, we grow stronger together.
