AWWF Small Group Socialisation Walk

Our small group social walks are for dogs and handlers who wish to improve upon/maintain their confidence and reduce reactivity around other dogs, people and the environment. Sunday 21st June meeting by Subway at Riverside Retail Park, Northampton, NN3 9HU. We will then walk on to the walk location. Please note, this is a retail park so please park respectfully and unload your dog/s safely. You can park for up to 4 hours according to the signage. Please respect other users of the area and keep noise to a minimum, not everyone loves dogs. Arrival is from 10:00, the walk starts at 10:30 prompt. It is £10 per dog to join this walk.
Advance booking is required. There are just 15 places available. We intentionally keep these groups small, so as not to flood/overwhelm. The walks are all on lead and managed along the route to ensure both dog and handler have the opportunity for a positive experience.
To reserve your place, please private message our page with the name of your dog/s then once confirmed, mark the event as going. Places are strictly on a 1st come 1st served basis.

For regular participants cash on the day is acceptable as an alternative.
Please note:
We will monitor the weather up to the day and reserve the right to cancel the event in inclement weather.
This is predominantly a countryside walk, with limited shade along the route. We recommend that you wear suitable footwear, sections of the walk may be wet and muddy. You will encounter wildlife, possibly livestock, bridges, steps, water and traffic. One section of the walk is narrow. The walk is very exposed to the elements. You and your dog will need to be reasonably fit for this walk.
All participants must keep their dog/s on lead during the walk. In the interest of safety, we ask you not to use prong collars, e-collars or retractable leads at any of our walks please.
Social distancing guidelines are in place for the benefit of the dogs. Please respect the space of others.
This walk is estimated in the region of 3 miles and approximately 1.5 hours long, therefore not suitable for puppies.
Please bring your own refreshments.
