AWS BugBust Hackathon

AWS Bug Bashing - Calling all Java and Python developers!

Join your fellow classmates for a fun and educational AWS BugBust event hosted by Belle Fleur and AWS on Sept 15 & 16 at the Cloud Computing Center at MDC. Compete for your chance to win AWS BugBust swag - and bragging rights - for fixing maximum number of bugs and helping Games for Love, a gaming charity, improve their code quality!

AWS BugBust provides an easy and fun solution to transform bug bashes, foster team building, and bring friendly competition to improve code quality and application performance. To help you find and exterminate bugs, AWS BugBust utilizes ML-powered developer tools - Amazon CodeGuru Reviewer and Amazon CodeGuru Profiler - to automatically scan your code to W**d out gnarly bugs and gamifies fixing and eliminating them. To participate all you need is your Java or Python coding skills!

The event will have two sessions:

On Sept 15th, there will be an online 2-hour workshop, delivered by an AWS Developer about different kinds of programming errors (concurrency, resource leaks, AWS Best Practices for coding) for Java and Python. The workshop will take place from 2 to 4PM EST Online via Amazon Chime.

On Sept 16th, we will have the BugBust competition where participants can put into practice their programming skills. The event will take place at Padron Campus, Miami Dade College.

The competition schedule will be as follows:

- 11 to 11:30AM EST – AWS will provide a short overview on BugBust

- 11:30AM to 12PM EST – Lunch sponsored by event organizers

- 12 to 4PM EST – BugBust competition

- 4 to 4:30PM EST – Top 3 winners will be announced
