About this Event
This training will focus on establishing a shared understanding of equity and justice for service providers and leaders in AWH4T's work, with an emphasis on restorative justice. Restorative justice is a communal approach to dealing with harm that focuses on relationships over rules. Rooted in Indigenous cultural practices around the world, this approach centers the person who has experienced the harm by prioritizing their needs and their healing.
Participants will learn restorative justice principles and practical skills that can be utilized in everyday life. Through restorative conversations, relational tools, and reflective practice, participants will build skills to navigate harm, conflict, and difference in ways that honor both high support and high accountability. Participants will engage in communal learning spaces that invite deep reflection and shared wisdom, learning not only from facilitators but from one another as they practice naming needs, responding to harm, and creating new possibilities together.
This will be the first of three trainings throughout the year in AWH4T's Equity and Justice series, presented by the Restorative Justice Institute of Oklahoma.
