This workshop will be an introduction to awareness-oriented body learning. We will explore some of the principles I use in my own practice as a bodyworker. My dear friend and colleague Navi Säregård will co-host this event.I’m wanting to continue passing on my skills and ways of working in my center for body-awareness. Past participants in this workshop have been getting more confident in giving bodywork, trusting themselves more, being willing to make mistakes and acknowledge their own vulnerability, and other emerging themes.
These two days we will play with tools around touch, awareness, intention and breathing in a context of learning experiences.
These tools are intended for home-use as well as a possible extension of professional tools. Participants of all levels are invited - provided that there is a willingness for using touch/being touched as a means of learning and within your own boundaries.
We will talk, use and explore some background concepts:
*Allowing to not know, as a starting point of the exploration.
*Body-Mind-Emotions interconnections and interactions.
*Fight/Flight/Freeze/Fawn responses.
*Coping mechanism around pain, fear, shame and other emotions.
*Regulating the experience.
*Grounding in the presence.
*Allow resistance. Letting go. Surrender.
And we will apply and explore these concepts in practical hands-on exercises.
Throughout the workshop, most practices will involve working in pairs with different partners, focusing on touch-based exercises. There will always be space to opt out of any practice, with ongoing consent being a central part of the experience.
The workshop is conducted in English. If you are more comfortable expressing in Dutch, there is a possibility to pair up with Dutch speaking participants.
Since February 2023, I have been organizing monthly playgrounds, which are currently only open to former workshop participants. If you like what we are doing at the workshop, you might consider joining up the playgrounds series afterwards.
Requirements:
Participants are expected to not suffer from severe health issues. Please contact me before, if you have any health issues, so we can discuss possible considerations or contra-indications.

Times: 10:00 – 18:00 with lunch break.
Please arrive at 9:45; the workshop will start at 10:00.
