About this Event

Winter Solstice Celebration

Dec. 21, Saturday | 6:30-8:30 p.m.

The Winter Solstice is the time of ending and beginning,

A powerful time – a time to contemplate your immortality.

A time to forgive, to be forgiven, and to make a fresh start.

— Frederick Lenz

Led by Fr. Joe Nassal, C.PP.S.

The Winter Solstice invites us to pause and to pray on the longest night of the year by embracing the light that dwells within each of us. This is the night to rest in the darkness, trusting the light of Christ, the light of hope, of peace, of love will grow ever brighter in the days ahead.

This is the night for honoring endings and embracing new beginnings. In our prayer, reflection, ritual, and conversation on this holy night, we release regrets from the past year as we make room for new hope to be born.

Our gathering this evening will once again include a contemplative walk to the Reconciliation Labyrinth with luminaries to light the way.

We will conclude with a simple supper and fellowship.
