Acclaimed Artist Bruce Asbestos Brings Groundbreaking AI Fashion Catwalk to Leicester Gallery DMU.
Leicester, UK – The Gallery DMU is proud to present an extraordinary exhibition by renowned artist Bruce Asbestos, showcasing his trailblazing work at the intersection of fashion, film, and artificial intelligence. The exhibition, on view from 6th July to 31st August, features Asbestos’ latest AI-generated fashion designs alongside a curated selection of his most iconic catwalk films from the past six years.
Asbestos has made waves in the art and fashion worlds with his innovative use of AI image generation to create stunning, otherworldly designs that push the boundaries of what is possible in fashion.
For A/W2024 Asbestos, long fascinated by the influential Bauhaus movement, used its core principles as the foundation for his AI prompts. The resulting designs developed into real-life catwalk are a testament to the enduring impact of the Bauhaus ethos, reimagined for the digital age. Sleek lines, bold colours, and geometric forms merge with cutting-edge materials, 3D printing and creating garments that are at once timeless and futuristic.
The exhibition also pays homage to Asbestos’ signature cross-pollination of disciplines, blending fashion, art, pop culture, and technology in a seamless and captivating whole. Alongside the AI-generated fashions, visitors will be immersed in large-scale projections of Asbestos’ iconic catwalk films from the past six years, each a mesmerizing exploration of the intersection between the physical and the digital, the real and the imagined offering an unparalleled look at Asbestos’ evolution as an artist and designer.
