AVERT Training Course

Pre-registration required no walk-ins accepted.

With AVERT – Active Violence Emergency Response Training - you'll learn how to recognize the signs of danger, react appropriately, and make rapid survival decisions. AVERT goes beyond active shooter response training by also teaching how to control life-threatening bleeding. This class is provided in a Blended Learning Format only. You will be issued a unique website link to access the online portion of the training that MUST be completed before attending class. You MUST ensure you complete the online portion prior to class - the system tracks your progress. The online portion takes about 20-30 minutes to complete and is a series of videos with a few knowledge checks. This class is for ages 18 and up.

When violence occurs, seconds count, and you can't always wait for EMS to arrive. AVERT enables you to become an immediate responder by giving you the tools to prepare for potential violence and react quickly in life-threatening situations. After an AVERT training session, you and your team will be able to:

• Recognize warning signs using situational awareness
• Decide whether to Escape, Evade, or Attack
• Apply critical bleeding control techniques
• Respond quickly and confidently in an emergency
• Develop an Emergency Action Plan (EAP)

Uncontrolled bleeding is a serious emergency. Blood loss due to trauma is a leading cause of preventable death in the United States. If care is delayed, even by a few minutes, uncontrolled bleeding can quickly become life-threatening.

When active violence occurs, time is critical to survival. Being able to react quickly and with confidence is vital to saving lives. All items required for the class will be provided in class.

We follow the current COVID19 protocols as set by the alert level in our county. Please bring a mask in case the alert level requires it.

We offer this class free of charge but we do need to pay for the online portions and materials and seating is limited. Please only register if you actually plan to attend so resources are not wasted. If you need to reschedule simply email us a [email protected] and we can move you to a future class date DO NOT register multiple times as the online code is issued automatically upon signing up and multiple registrations will result in multiple codes being issued wasting resources that could have been used by another.

We do not use any live weapons. Students registering are NOT permitted to bring any live weapons into the building even if they have a proper permit. You will be asked to leave if you bring any weapons to class. We want to ensure a safe learning environment for all.
