Auditioning live performers for multiple opportunities across Kansas City!
The American Vaudeville Company (AVC) produces a variety of shows across the Kansas City area and throughout the country. We are looking to fill the following positions:
- actors
- dancers
- singers
- comedians
- writers
- sound technicians
- showrunners
- stage managers
We have several shows planned for 2026, including murder mystery dinner theatre, comedy game shows, dance & music showcases, cabaret shows, standup & sketch comedy shows, and full stage productions!
Individual auditions should take roughly 15-20 minutes each, but might take longer (for instance, if you are auditioning for more than one discipline).
Singer auditions: please prepare an audition song. We will be using Karafun backing tracks, but you may bring your own backing track on a USB drive or request a specific YouTube backing track if you need.
Dance & Comedy auditions: please prepare a 2-3 minute routine.
Actor auditions: please prepare a 1-2 minute monologue. Most of our productions are character-based improvised interactive shows. We will provide you with a character description, motive, and setting to gauge your comfortability with our format, as well as traditional audition sides to showcase your acting ability.
For anyone interested in non-performance ONLY there is no need to attend auditions (but feel free to stop in - we'd love to meet you!). For writers, please include a 2-5 page sample of your writing (can be a collection from various projects).
