Welcome to the launch of Avain 1/2026!This special issue brings together new research on whiteness in literary studies across Nordic contexts, engaging questions of race, normativity, and representation.

The programme includes short presentations of the contributions, followed by informal discussion with the authors. There will also be drinks and something to eat.
The event will be held in English. The issue itself includes articles in Swedish and Finnish, and the launch aims to foster dialogue across linguistic contexts within Nordic literary studies.
