Are you a garlic lover? Join us in the garden for an afternoon of garlic planting at the Wyckoff House Museum Urban Farm
About this Event

We have a lot of garlic to plant! Join us at the Urban Farm where we will be planting "seed" garlic. Each October we plant "seed" garlic in the ground. Seed garlic is not actually a seed, it is a garlic clove that has been saved specifically for the purpose of growing new garlic.

When spring 2023 starts to warm up the garlic will send beautiful green leaves into the air and form big spicy bulbs. Garlic will be ready to harvest in July 2023. Its a long time to wait but if you enjoy planting with us stay in touch and we can harvest together too!

Garlic planting is fun for gardeners of all ages and experience levels. It can get a little dirty so please wear appropriate clothes such as long pants and closed toe shoes. Dont forget to bring a water bottle and a snack.

Please note that October 22 is also Open House New York. Special tours of the House Museum will be available at 1pm. Find out more here.
