Argentine Tango Workshop, & Milonga with Erin Malley & Doruk Golcu
Sunday, October 18 · Illuminations, Cedar Rapids
We are thrilled to have Erin Malley and Doruk Golcu, internationally touring Argentine tango teachers and performers based in Michigan, for one special evening as they pass through Iowa on their cross-country tour. Erin comes from a concert dance background (ballet, modern, choreography); together they teach and perform across the US and Europe, and they're known for workshops that break the dance down structurally so you can improvise with anything, anywhere.
Schedule
3:30 PM — Doors open: warm up, get settled, say hello
4:00–5:30 PM — Workshop
5:30–6:00 PM — Snack break with music
6:00–9:00 PM — Milonga
Workshop (final topic to be announced — geared to the level of the room)
All levels welcome. Dancers from other styles (swing, salsa, ballroom) are especially encouraged to come try tango.
Pricing
Workshop: $35 ($5 student discount)
Milonga: $10
Private lessons with Erin & Doruk are available by request — message us to reserve a slot. They are available all of Monday.
We invite you to bring a drink or a dish to share if you'd like. Not required, always appreciated.
