Get ready for a hands-on, sensory adventure! In this playful workshop, little creators will mix, knead, and squish their way to their very own batch of homemade playdough. Children will choose Autumn-inspired colors and scents to make each creation uniquely theirs. After enjoying a seasonal read-aloud and sensory bin play, kids will dive into the fun of measuring, pouring, and mixing. Best of all, they’ll take their personalized dough home to keep the creativity going!

This workshop is more than just play. It’s an opportunity to learn, grow, and connect through creativity:

🎨 Creative Expression – Kids design their dough with scents and colors, encouraging imagination and independence.
🔢 STEM in Action – Measuring, mixing, and observing transformations introduces early math, science, and problem-solving concepts.

⏱️This Session's Agenda:

The workshop will begin with a short circle time, featuring a themed read-aloud and a fun movement activity to help kids warm up and connect. After that, children will dive into the art-making process. A cozy sensory bin free play and book area will also be available throughout the session for children for welcome play, who need a break throughout the session, or finish their art work early.

Further information: We will provide all craft and sensory materials as well as a caring and nurturing environment for safe and supported learning. We suggest you feed your child a small snack before the session, but will have some dry goods (rice crackers, raisins) on site just in case. We will also be providing coffee and tea for caregivers to enjoy while their children learn. We ask parents stay on site in case their child is struggling to join or having big feelings, but otherwise we invite adults in attendance to sit back, relax, and meet other parents. There is a toilet available for patrons but no changing table.

Who we are: Meggie and Raela are your teachers with Friendship in the Feld, an early childhood development program providing play-based educational workshops for children. We are two early childhood educators with more than 20 years of combined experience with young children. Through sensory experiences, art exploration and child-led play, we aim to support social-emotional learning and help develop community and school readiness skills.
