Autumn Lino Printing
About this Event
Join us at Spirals for a three-hour workshop exploring the art of lino printing, inspired by the colours, shapes and textures of autumn.
You'll learn how to use lino cutting tools and experiment with different carving techniques before creating your own design. You'll then carve and print your lino block to produce a series of original prints.
Whether you're a complete beginner or have tried lino printing before, this workshop offers a relaxed and friendly opportunity to develop your skills and enjoy the printmaking process.
With just six places available, there will be plenty of individual guidance throughout the workshop.
All materials and equipment are provided, along with tea, coffee and biscuits.
Meet your tutor
This workshop is led by Sheffield-based artist and experienced tutor Kim Bevan, who runs Paperbased (@paperbasedworkshops).
Kim works predominantly with paper, exploring its creative possibilities through artist's books, sculptural forms, printmaking, paper cutting and illustration. Her artist's books often incorporate inventive folding techniques, transforming flat sheets into intricate three-dimensional structures.
Inspired by everyday life, human nature and conversations, Kim creates playful and detailed work that invites closer inspection.
Alongside her own artistic practice, she runs creative workshops for all ages, both from her studio and at venues across Sheffield.
