Autumn Harvest Flower Arranging Workshop at Gibside Stables

💥 Gibside Stables is approximately a 20-minute walk from the reception building and includes mixed terrain and a steep-incline, so we’d recommend arriving onsite at least 30 minutes before the workshop begins and wearing sturdy footwear.

Join us for a relaxed and creative workshop inspired by the beauty of autumn and the harvest season. Set within the stunning grounds of Gibside, we'll create a beautiful basket arrangement celebrating everything we love about this time of year.

Working in a rustic basket, you'll arrange a gorgeous selection of seasonal flowers alongside autumnal foliage and ornamental grasses, with apples gathered from the Gibside estate. Together, these natural elements will create a rich, textured design that captures the warmth, colour, and abundance of autumn.

We'll be using sustainable, plant-based Oasis Renewal Floral Foam to support your arrangement, and I'll guide you through each step of the process. Whether you've never arranged flowers before or you're looking to build your confidence, this workshop is designed to be relaxed, supportive, and enjoyable for everyone.

Surrounded by the beautiful landscapes of Gibside, this is the perfect opportunity to slow down, embrace the changing season, and enjoy a few mindful hours immersed in creativity. Think crisp autumn air, rich seasonal colours, and the simple pleasure of creating something beautiful with your own hands.

Our workshops at The Northern Flower Garden are always fun and supportive where I demonstrate professional floristry techniques, share the tips and tricks and we’ll keep the creativity flowing with crafted drinks and homemade bakes from the National Trust team at Gibside.

Admission & Access Information

• When you arrive at Gibside, please show proof of your workshop booking at the welcome buildings to gain free admission to the site.
• If you’re a National Trust member, please have your membership card scanned at admissions as usual.

Accessibility

• An access bus is sometimes available to help visitors reach the Stables. It runs from the Market Place up to the Stables at quarter past the hour, and back again at half past the hour.
• If you’d like to use the bus, please email [email protected] before your visit to confirm it’s running on the day. If it isn’t, we’ll do our best to help arrange an alternative for you.

Biosecurity

• To protect and conserve the landscape of Gibside, we bag and seal all plant material that enters and leaves the site. Therefore we ask you to also seal your designs in the bags we will provide as you leave.
