Autistic Adult Hangout Speed Friending

The Autism Social Spectrum of Columbia willpartner with the Richland Library downtown this month! We will join them for speed friending via their Calm & Connect program. For more information on the event: https://www.richlandlibrary.com/event/2026-02-24/calm-connect

We will be meeting in the library's auditorium. When you arrive, if you need directions to the auditorium, let a staff member know that you are there to attend the "Calm & Connect Event."

"Check-out a new, welcoming library experience designed for all individuals including adults with disabilities and sensory-sensitivities. This is a judgement free space to browse, read, craft, relax or engage in quiet conversation.

Enjoy a low stimulation environment with gentle lighting in our auditorium space. Participants may also access calming materials fidgets and noise-reducing headphones. Library staff are trained in accommodations, modifications, and will be available for support.

This month, we'll be speed-friending. Speed meet your next book-buddy, game night crew, or coffee chat friend—come for the conversation, stay for the newly formed friendships!

Snacks will be provided."
