Autism and Transitioning through the Education System

Mike and Rhiannon Cowan-Jones will facilitate a workshop that aims to empower young people, their parents and their guardians on how to make the education system work for them, including highlighting what can happen when transitions are mis-managed; the difficulties that can occur even with the best managed transitions; the role of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP’s) and the role of home education as opposed to home schooling. There will be personal disclosures from both presenters and this may include reference to self-harm and suicidal ideation.

Please note this event is subsidised to make it financially accessible at £5 per ticket with additional voluntary donations welcome so we can continue to offer these workshops to individuals and families.
