About this Event
Online Event - Via Zoom
We invite you to join us for a very special event celebrating the work of John Steiner, following the publication of The Allure of Psychic Retreats.
This new book recognises John's eminent contribution to psychoanalytic theory and practice. The event will feature a discussion between some of the book’s contributors, who are Ronald Britton, Abbot Bronstein, Franco De Masi, Michael Feldman, Susan Finkelstein, Claudia Frank, Esther Horn, Eileen McGinley, Priscilla Roth, Ignês Sodré, Carina Weiss and Heinz Weiss. John himself will also be present and will respond to the discussion. The conversation will explore John's most important concepts - the theory of ‘psychic retreats’ and other themes from the book such as vision, shame, psychotic and borderline states, illusion and disillusionment.
The event will be jointly chaired by Anne Amos and Susan Lawrence, and will be the last of our Authors in Conversations series for the moment.
Find out more about The Allure of Psychic Retreats (Brandes & Apsel, 2024), edited by Heinz Weiss, Abbot Bronstein, Claudia Frank and Priscilla Roth here
All registered attendees will receive a link to a recording, which will be available for two weeks following the live event.
